The summer season in Sappada attracts many tourists.

There are those who come simply to rest, take in the fresh air and relax with family and friends. The fresh climate typical of the mountains does not make one miss the stifling city heat.

However being on holiday does not mean having to be inactive. One can take many excursions to the alpine mountains refuges in the area or the summits of the mountains that surround the valley.All mountain trekking routes are clearly sign posted and you can choose your route depending on the level of difficulty and the time you want to take. Trekking excursions can also be organised with an experienced guide to lead the way.

For those remaining in the village there are many sporting facilities, staring with football pitches, basketball & tennis courts, golf practice, swimming, and for rainy days and indoor sports hall with rock climbing wall.

There are numerous tracks for horse riding, mountain bilking or simply walking. For those that are passionate about fishing, there is a small lake to indulge in. For children there is a well-equipped playground with swings, climbing frame, crazy golf and various other games like Nevelandia Estate.

There is no shortage of organised events, such as children’s plays, concerts, local folk events, sporting competitions, the Fishing festival and the well-known Beer Festival held in August, which has become famous throughout Italy.
