Summer in Sappada

In summer Sappada is cool and green: at 1,250 metres the days are warm but never muggy and the nights are cool. It is the right place for mountain walks, cycling or simply relaxing with the family.

Hikes and mountain huts

Trails start right from the village and climb to mountain huts and peaks of the Friulian Dolomites and the Carnic Alps: from Monte Siera to Monte Peralba, where the Piave river rises. The routes are well marked and suit all levels, from woodland walks to high-altitude hikes. Outings with nature guides are also organised.

Easy walks

  • The Cascatelle trail along the Mühlbach stream
  • The hamlets of Old Sappada, with their wooden houses
  • The Sources of the Piave, also reachable by car from Cima Sappada

Sports and children

  • Mountain biking and e-biking on forest roads
  • Football, volleyball and tennis courts, golf
  • Fishing lake
  • Playgrounds in the village and along the riverside walk by the Piave

Summer events

In July and August there are concerts, children’s activities, sports competitions and village festivals such as Borgate in Festa and the Folklore Festival.
