In winter Sappada, at 1,250 metres in the Friulian Dolomites, is covered in snow and becomes a village made for skiers, families and walkers. Everything is close by: from Borgata Granvilla, where our apartments are, the Campetti slopes, Nevelandia and the cross-country trails are about 500 metres away.
Downhill skiing and snowboarding
The Sappada ski area has about 15 km of slopes served by 8-9 lifts, with snowmaking on all slopes. There are the Campetti for children and beginners, close to the centre, and more challenging runs on Monte Siera, Cima Sappada, Pian dei Nidi and Col dei Mughi. The new Sappada 2000 lift is under construction. A ski bus links the village with the lift stations. Ski passes can also be bought online on the PromoTurismoFVG website.

Cross-country skiing
Sappada has always been a home of cross-country skiing: Olympic champions such as Silvio Fauner and Pietro Piller Cottrer grew up here. About 14 km of groomed trails run through woods and meadows, with the Cima Sappada loop (4.3 km) and the cross-country stadium, which hosts international races and where beginners can take their first steps.

Nevelandia and snow fun for children
Nevelandia is the snow park: ice skating, snow tubing runs, sledges and games for children of all ages.

Not just skiing
- Snowshoe walks in the woods, also in the evening with guides
- Ice skating
- Ski touring and, on the right days, ice climbing on frozen waterfalls
- Scuola Sci Sappada ski school for downhill, cross-country and snowboard lessons
- Rental shops in the village for skis, snowshoes and sledges

Events
The most awaited moment of the winter is the Sappada Carnival, on the three Sundays before Lent, with the Rollate and the carved wooden masks.
